MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE - BE A VOLUNTEER!!
Being a volunteer firefighter can be a very rewarding experience. It offers you the chance to work with state-of-the-art equipment and a chance to experience the camaraderie involved with a community organization. We will provide all of your training as well as everything else that you will need as a member. The Mount Laurel Fire Department is constantly recruiting volunteers to maintain the quality of the services we provide to the community.
There are four different volunteer programs to choose from. They are Active Firefighter, Junior Firefighter, Fire Police Officer and Explorer programs.
The Active Firefighter program is for adults over the age of 18 and involves all fire fighting duties. The Junior Firefighter program is designed for young adults between the ages 16 and 18 and the Explorer program is designed for youth between the ages 14 and 16. Both of these programs entail developing skills used in everyday fire fighting duties under the direction of fire officers. The Fire Police Officer program involves protecting property and controlling traffic and crowds at fire scenes. Most importantly, you don't need to have any prior experience to join. All you need to have is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
